Intimate Wedding Receptions & Rehearsal Dinners
I believe wedding dining should feel personal.
Through French Magnolia Cooks, Thomas and I create chef-led dining for intimate receptions, rehearsal dinners, welcome dinners, and select wedding weekends — bringing together thoughtful cuisine, wine, service, and genuine hospitality.
For couples planning a more personal kind of celebration, I design the dining experience so the table becomes part of the wedding itself.
Whether you are gathering in a private home, estate, garden, or intimate Nashville-area venue, we bring together the food, wine, table, and service around the people you have chosen to celebrate with.
A More Personal Way to Celebrate
Not every wedding is meant to feel large.
And not every couple searching for wedding catering is looking for a conventional catered event.
Some celebrations call for something more personal.
An intimate wedding reception creates space for the day to remain centered on the people who are actually there. The meal can unfold naturally. Guests can settle into conversation. The table becomes part of the memory rather than simply another item on the timeline.
French Magnolia is designed for exactly that kind of gathering.
Thomas and I create intimate wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, welcome dinners, and wedding-weekend dining for couples who want their celebration to feel thoughtful, beautiful, and genuinely hosted.
Intimate Wedding Reception Dining
A meaningful wedding reception does not need hundreds of guests to feel extraordinary.
In many cases, the smaller the guest list, the more every detail matters.
I create the menu around the season, the setting, and the people gathered. Thomas brings wine, service, pacing, and hospitality alongside it so the evening feels refined without becoming formal.
Depending on the celebration, a French Magnolia wedding experience can include multiple chef-prepared courses, curated wine pairings, table florals, linens, china, stemware, champagne coupes, flatware, full table service, setup, and breakdown.
Our intimate seated wedding experiences are designed primarily for gatherings of 10 to 48 guests.
Whether you are celebrating in a private home, estate, garden, or intimate venue, the goal remains the same:
Create a table worthy of the people gathered around it.
Rehearsal Dinners & Welcome Dinners
The rehearsal dinner is not simply the meal before the wedding.
For many couples, it becomes one of the most personal gatherings of the entire weekend.
It is where families begin to relax together. Guests arrive. Introductions become conversations. And after months of planning, the wedding weekend finally begins to feel real.
Thomas and I approach rehearsal dinners and welcome dinners with the same care we bring to the reception itself.
The menu, wine, table, pacing, and service are considered together so the evening feels gracious and well hosted rather than programmed.
Whether the gathering is elegant or relaxed, plated or family-style, the goal is to give everyone — including the couple and their families — the opportunity to actually enjoy being together.
Rehearsal dinners and welcome dinners may be booked as part of a larger French Magnolia wedding weekend or as individual engagements.
From Wedding Catering to a Complete Dining Experience
Many couples begin by searching for a wedding caterer because catering is the familiar name for what happens after the ceremony.
French Magnolia can provide full-service wedding dining, but our approach is intentionally more personal than conventional high-volume catering.
I do not begin with a banquet formula and fit your wedding into it.
We begin with the people, the place, the occasion, and the kind of evening you want to create.
The cuisine is considered.
The wine is considered.
The table is considered.
The pacing and service are considered.
Together, those pieces create something larger than a catered meal:
a complete hospitality experience.
Intimate Weddings in Nashville & Williamson County
French Magnolia is particularly well suited to intimate weddings in private homes, estates, gardens, and select venues where the setting itself becomes part of the experience.
We currently accept select wedding and rehearsal-dinner engagements throughout Nashville, Franklin, Brentwood, and Williamson County, including Green Hills, Belle Meade, Forest Hills, Oak Hill, Cool Springs, College Grove, The Grove, and Troubadour.
If you have already selected your venue, we will talk through the kitchen, service areas, guest count, timeline, and logistics with you during planning to determine whether the property is a good fit for the French Magnolia experience.
If you are still choosing a venue, I encourage you to think beyond how it photographs.
Consider how it hosts.
How will guests gather?
How will dinner flow?
Does the setting support the kind of evening you actually want to create?
Those questions matter just as much as the view.
Working With Your Wedding Planner
When a wedding planner is involved, we work collaboratively with them so the dining experience becomes part of the larger rhythm of the day.
A good planner protects the timeline and coordinates the many moving pieces surrounding a wedding.
Our responsibility is to bring the same steadiness to the table.
The transition from ceremony to cocktails matters. Dinner timing matters. Wine and service matter. Communication between the kitchen, planner, venue, and service team matters.
We work particularly well with planners, venue teams, and event designers who value clear communication and hospitality that feels seamless rather than performative.
And when a planner is not involved, we bring the same professionalism to our portion of the celebration so the dining experience remains organized, calm, and well led.

Is French Magnolia Right for Your Wedding?
We are especially well suited for couples who want something more personal than a traditional banquet-style reception.
You may be a particularly good fit if you want chef-led cuisine rather than standardized event food, an intentional guest list rather than a high-volume event, thoughtful wine and genuine table service, a private home, estate, garden, or intimate venue, and a celebration that feels refined without becoming stiff or overproduced.
The smaller the gathering, the less there is to hide behind.
I think that is part of what makes intimate weddings so beautiful.
The food matters.
The wine matters.
The table matters.
The service matters.
But ultimately, the people matter most.
A Few Things Couples Ask Us
A few questions tend to come up as couples begin thinking through an intimate wedding reception or rehearsal dinner.
These are some of the ones we hear most often.
What size weddings are the best fit for French Magnolia?
Our seated wedding experiences are designed primarily for 10 to 48 guests. That size allows the meal, service, wine, and conversation to remain central to the evening. We may consider other formats depending on the venue, guest count, menu, and service style.
Do you offer wedding catering in Nashville?
Yes. French Magnolia creates intimate wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, welcome dinners, and select wedding-weekend dining throughout Nashville, Franklin, Brentwood, and Williamson County.
Our approach is more personal than traditional high-volume wedding catering and is designed around the specific people, setting, and occasion.
What's the difference between French Magnolia and a traditional wedding caterer?
Traditional wedding catering often begins with established packages, menu selections, and service formats designed to accommodate larger events efficiently. I begin with your wedding. The menu, wine, table, service, and pacing are developed around your setting, guests, and the kind of celebration you want to create. That makes the experience feel closer to private dining than conventional banquet catering.
Do you work with wedding planners?
Yes. We enjoy working with experienced wedding planners, venue teams, and event designers and coordinate closely with them around timing, kitchen logistics, service, and the larger flow of the day.
If you do not have a planner, we still manage our portion of the celebration with the same level of organization and communication.
Can you cook at a private home or estate?
Yes. Private homes and estates are often an excellent fit for French Magnolia.
Before confirming the event, we will review the kitchen, service areas, access, guest count, equipment, and other logistics to make sure the property can support the experience well.
Can we hire you just for our rehearsal dinner or welcome dinner?
Absolutely. Rehearsal dinners and welcome dinners may be booked independently or as part of a larger wedding-weekend experience. For many families, these gatherings become some of the most relaxed and memorable moments of the weekend.
Do you provide wine for wedding dinners?
Wine is an important part of many French Magnolia experiences. Thomas works with the menu, occasion, and your preferences to shape wine pairings that feel naturally connected to the meal. Depending on the event and applicable arrangements, we can help curate the wines and guide the wine experience throughout the evening.
What is included in an intimate wedding reception?
Every celebration is different, but a French Magnolia wedding experience may include menu development, ingredient sourcing, on-site preparation, multiple courses, curated wine pairings, linens, china, stemware, flatware, florals, table setting, service, setup, and breakdown. We will outline what is included as your particular experience is developed.
How far in advance should we inquire?
Wedding dates, weekends, and popular seasons can fill well in advance. I recommend reaching out as soon as you know your approximate date, location, and guest count. You do not need to have every detail figured out before contacting us.
How do we start?
Start by submitting a wedding inquiry with your date, approximate guest count, location, and any details you already know about your venue, planner, or celebration.
Tell us your date, location, approximate guest count, and what you are envisioning.
Thomas and I will review the details, confirm availability, and begin determining whether French Magnolia is the right fit for your celebration.

We recently had Chef Missy and her fabulous husband Thomas create a Chef's Table dinner party for my 50th birthday celebration with an intimate group of my girlfriends. What a treat to sit down to the most beautifully set table with flowers, candles and china. We loved learning about each wine from Thomas. His selections were perfectly paired to each course. Chef Missy prepared the most exquisite meal that my guests are still talking about! They were professional in their interactions before and during the evening and we all found them delightful to be with! The entire experience exceeded our expectations!

We did the chef's table experience at our home and Chef Missy made everything special, delicious, and best of all, I didn't have to lift a finger. Every course and wine pairing was exquisite. It was very educational and a dinner we will be talking about for years to come. Can't wait to do it again some time!

Chef Missy traveled to Blowing Rock, NC, to put on a fabulous brunch for my mother-in-law’s birthday. The food was outstanding, presentation just beautiful and learning all about champagne from her husband, Thomas Fraley, was an added bonus. My husband and I are looking forward to working with Chef Missy again in the future. She’s just the best!
